Each year, for the past 12 years, San Diego Rescue Mission has hosted a candlelight vigil on behalf of the dozens of men, women, and children who perished this year on the streets of San Diego in homeless anonymity.
Over 200 people walk from the Rescue Mission follow a mile-long path to the steps of the San Diego County Administration Building. Every several blocks there are opportunities to stop and pray for various churches, schools, and ministry sites along the way.
A brief ceremony at the SDC Administration building is intended to remind our community of the 10,000 men, women and children who live each day homeless in San Diego and should not have to die on the streets.
The San Diego Rescue Mission is a faith-based organization that offers safe-haven as well as restorative care and rehabilitation services to the homeless, addicted, abused and poor in the community.
New Vision Urban Missions is grateful to walk again this year and build awareness of those lost to the streets. Mike Haskins will be present to honor their memory and give the invocation that starts this year's 2013 Ceremony.
