Urban ministry is not done as a solo act. We work better as a team in our own ministry and when we partner with other ministries.

The partnership that Pastor Pete embraced for New Vision Christian Fellowship (affirmed unanimously by the existing congregation of the former First Baptist Church of San Diego) results in a thriving community-focused, Bible-teaching church with some amazing resources. Our four-year old merge stands as a model for what can happen when we seek first the Kingdom and align resources with mission. We are grateful for our CSBC affiliation and hope to become a valued resource for effective urban ministry in the largest evangelical denomination in the US.
Our partnership with Hume SD will be 10 years old this summer! In 2015, we expect to provide urban ministry electives for over 1000 students who will join us for street outreach to the homeless, ministry in downtown hotels, and service projects around our community. Hume SD, a satellite program of Hume Lake Christian Camp, is a seamless blend of Hume Lake and San Diego. Urban missions and beachfront activities take full advantage of the location while powerful corporate worship, compelling teaching and full throttle recreation provide a true camp experience. Hume Lake Christian Camp has set the gold-standard for Christian camps for over 30 years.

San Diego Rescue Mission has been a resource and advocate for the homeless for over 50 years. Our lead pastor has been on staff at the mission and continues to preach there on a regular basis. The rescue mission is a source of food for our distribution program and a place that we can refer homeless who are ready to get off the street. We will play an important role in their annual, "Sleepless in San Diego" event.

Feeding America is a valued community partner. The food that we distribute to the community and serve at our community meals reaches as many as 7500 people each week. Much of that food come from Feeding America. One of our favorite Feeding America staff people is Alicia Sakke, the volunteer coordinator. Alicia works with us to provide service hours for mission teams to work on the supply end of our food distribution ministry and her staff does a fantastic job of communicating the great need in our community.
